Lobi Stars head coach, Justin Tenger has said non-league side, BJ Foundation created scary moments for the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side.
The Pride of Benue defeated the Benin City outfit 2-1 in the Federation Cup quarterfinals clash on yesterday at the Lokoja Confluence Stadium in Lokoja.
The duo of Farouk Umar and Obinna Arinze scored the two first half goals that nailed BJ Foundation.
Tenger said he was happy to scale the non-league side opposition to book passage to the semifinals of the annual football showpiece.
“BJ Foundation are very good side, I now see reasons why they defeated two-time Cup winners, Heartland.
“We had real problem with them throughout the encounter, I think we are lucky to have scored two quick goals in the first half.
“It was not an easy game, I thank God we pulled through to the semifinals stage of the competition.
“We had injury worries going into the clash as we missed some key players, I sincerely pray they will recover in time before the semifinals clash.
“Sincerely, I pray to be in the final where we will challenge for the title,” the former Akwa United coach told Supersport.com.
Lobi Stars sweated to their panties to ease pass stubborn Nigeria National League (NNL) side, Remo Stars on penalties in the round of 16 clash.
