Dogo calls Nasarawa Utd lucky

Nasarawa United head coach, Kabir Dogo has described as lucky the side’s hard earned victory against FC Ifeanyiubah.

The Solid Miners piped Nigerian top flight newcomers 1-0 in yesterday’s Federation Cup quarterfinals clash at the Kwara State Stadium in llorin.

Former Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) attacking midfielder, Thomas Zenke scored the match winner for the Lafia outfit.

Dogo said both sides played greatly well to deserve winners of the keenly contested Cup quarterfinals clash.

“It was a highly technical match, the atmosphere was perfect for good football coupled with 100 per cent flawless officiating.

“Both sides gave their very best in the encounter, a game which could have gone either side.

“It was thoroughly a difficult match as FC Ifeanyiubah fought hard to redeem the situation. They are very good side with equally good individual players who actually proved their worth.

“I think the lucky side (Nasarawa United) won the encounter and we are the happiest for it.

“My players are improving with each passing match and I sincerely hope they continue on that path as we keenly wait for our semifinals opponents.

“I learnt the best Nasarawa United have achieved in the Fed Cup was a semifinals stage.

“Right now, I want to go beyond the semifinals stage, I actually want to play in the final,” said the former ABS coach to supersport.com.

Nasarawa United saw off NNL side, Abia Warriors in the round of 16 clash in Osogbo.
