Dream Team VI defender, Stanley Amuzie, has undergone a major knee surgery at his base in Italy and will be out of action for at least nine months.
Top officials informed africanFootball.com that the full back ruptured his cruciate ligaments during a CAF U-23 Championship qualifier against Congo in Pointe Noire earlier this month.
The injury forced him out of the match after just 25 minutes of action.
Amuzie, who joined Italian club Sampdoria after his contract at Sassuolo ended, has been one of the standout performers in the Olympic Team managed by Samson Siasia.
