Wallsall, Chelsea battle in Capital One Cup

Holders Chelsea will begin its defence of the Capital One Cup in Wednesday’s third round clash against in- form League one side Wallsall.

Chelsea striker Diego Costa will begin his three-match ban after the English Football Association found him guilty of violent conduct in Saturday’s match against Arsenal.

John Terry and Radamel Falcao will start the game, but Thibaut Courtois and Willian are unavailable due to injuries.

The only injury concern for Wallsall is English midfielder, Isaiah Osbourne, who is out because of a knee complaint.

Wallsall and Chelsea have met 11 times in history, with Chelsea recording nine victories, one draw and one defeat.

Wallsall has got off to a good start to the season and currently lies 2nd in League 1.

The team defeated both Nottingham Forest and Brighton to get to this round.

Despite Wallsall impressive start to the season, Chelsea is the odd-on favourite for this tie and many expect the reigning English champions to win the match comfortably.

The match kicks-off 7:45pm Nigerian Time.
